Here in San Antonio I use a local electronics shop to rebuild my
battery. The guy charges me about 1/2 price of a new battery to rebuild
it. They work great. He does it for me as a favor, and wont build them
for anybody else. Says it is too time-consuming.
The point is that you could check with different electronic supply
houses in your area, and ask them if they rebuild batteries, and see
what they would charge. I am currently looking to buy a small welder,
and may start re-building my own.
