I went through the same thing with a third party battery on my Duo 280c. I
ended up taking it back to the computer store where I bought it, and they
replaced it with another of the same brand. No difference... still lousy
performance. I went back to the store and talked to a Tech. He said to
stick with an Apple battery, and I'd be fine. He was correct. The Apple
battery cost me about ten dollars more, and it was worth every penny.
