I used TimesTwo by Golden Triangle (long gone out of business). At the time, I was using a SE/30 with System 7, IIRC. It was similar to Stacker, i.e. it is a driver level compression. You files appear as usual, the compression happening on the fly when they are read or write from/to the disk. I never had any problem with it, but you had to watch not to completely fill your hard disk, or you could run into problems. I still have the original disk.
