A while ago I took apart my Duo2300 in order to upgrade the internal modem to a 19.2 GV Mercury. Everything is working quite well, I even installed version 8.6 OS. When I use the etherdock at work I can get on DSL. It even finds the HP8100 11x17 duplex printer on the Windows NT network. Life is good. The problem is that the Duo's internal speaker is not working at all. I am able get sound out from various docks, but no sound at all when undocked. I wouldn't even care, except I have recently discovered abc tune files on the web, and I want to be able to play them even without a dock and speakers handy. Could I have messed up the connection to the speaker? With the old modem it used to 'click' at initialization. Or is it possible that the speaker just quit working? Is there a way to test the speaker? I love this list and I've gotten lots of benefit and enjoyment from being on it! Thanks, Bob Laughton ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
