Jim If you going up then go all the way to 8.6. 8.5 is less stable than 8.6
and you would be alot happier with it! Be aware you will use more ram and
the duo will seem a little slower but not alot!
8.1 is a very good system for the 2300, there is a sneaky way of getting the
8.6 with out buying it if you have a Norton cd or techtools cd-rom!

I have a Duo 2300c with OS 8.1, 56 MB RAM, 1.1 GIG HD......is there anything
to be said for going up to
OS 8.5.x ?....or do I just make sure all of the OS 8.1 patches, updates,
etc., are installed and go with that ?......thanks for your thoughts, ideas,
etc. JWS.
