First of all, just to make things clear, I didn't do a low level format.
That option was disabled from the initialization options in Drive Setup.
I checked the write zeroes (or something like that) option only.

If what you're saying is true, even with the write zero option, that's a
real bummer. I don't have any "real" friend with a Windoze laptop. And
if I had one, that would mean I would have to ask him to remove it's
current drive, stick mine in, then try to boot off from a CD or a
floppy? I understand the situation I put myself into, but I don't know
how I could find someone who would let me play in his laptop's
internals... I might be able to use a laptop here, at work, but the
thought of screwing something is scaring me the most!
