Hello, First of all let me say that I'm new here, and if this subject has already been dealt with here, I would not know about it. I am on the warpath to make my 2400 run the new operating system. I'd even be happy to get it to run Darwin if it can't run OS X. I've had nothing but frustration, because I can't find any info on how to do this. I've picked up bits and pieces here and there. I'm wondering if someone on this list has been able to make it work. I've discovered a bug in Apple's System Disk control panel that can be easily fixed with ResEdit. Normally the control panel says that it doesn't know how to configure the 2400, and that it will have no effect. The control panel has the wrong machine ID for the 2400. I've fixed this and the control panel worked and patched the 2400 NVRAM in Open Firmware. But it still won't boot anything other than Mac OS. I'm pretty sure that the 2400, having a PCI bus and Open Firmware 2.0 could probably boot OS X. There seems to be no reason for all the System Disk control panels, including the ones for OS X PB (v3.3) OS X Server (v2.3.1) and Rhapsody (Multibooter) all have an NVRAM patch for the 2400/3400. I've heard apocryphal reports of a 3400/180 running OS X. Any help will be appreciated. -Jorge Diaz-Amador ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
