Hi:

I am having a similar problem with my PB540C with the Global Village
Powerport modem. It seems that from what I read after searching Google
is that this is a buggy modem. Mine works with the software version
2.08 with the original 68040 processor, but when I install the PowerPC
upgrade, the modem no longer works. It requires 2.5x to work with a
PowerPC. and they (Global Village) only provide the upgrade to 2.55 to
those who have version 2.5, not to those who have 2.08! Where did you
get your software, did it come with the modem, or did you order it from
somewhere else? Any info would be appreciated.
