Having read this list for a few years, there have been several reports of users being happy with it. I sent mine off last week and expect to be up and running with it Monday.
My experience so far was that I sprang for the Newer Firewire PC card that was being closed out cause I couldn't resist a bargain. I tried it on my 2400 and it worked every time. Then came Ricochet which had the option of being accessed by serial port (PC only) or PC Card. After trying the serial port with no luck, I got a Macally USB card. This was less successful as it would access the modem about 10% of the time and only after a lot of file swapping, PRAM resets, and desktops rebuilds. Finally I succumbed to sending it off to MCE.
The one glitch you need to know is that even with the Cardbus fix, you still can't leave the card in when restarting. As I was told by MCE, the 2400 ROM isn't written to recognize a 32 bit PC Card so you have to have them ejected prior to restart. Once inserted, the PC Card should work reliably (It'd better. . .)
