Exactly, I just put a Newer 330mhz ($180!) in my 6100a/v and zoom! New life
and purpose for the old beast.

Back on topic, the 2400's in port might be usable for running your CD player
or consumer type machine in, but really terrible (at least in my machine)
for live digital audio tracking from a mixer. All sorts of internal digital
interference gets picked up. Extremely noisy.

Sound out is OK though, but I recall seeing that if you set the volume out
level to anything less than max, sound manager will dither the output down
from 44.1khz.

There is another PCMCIA solution out there called the Wami-box. They
recently finished writing Mac drivers I think and it is a separate half-rack
sized breakout box with a variety of analog and digital connectors.
