I don't do business with OWC after I attempted to buy ram for a mac clone
from them while buying some for a 7600. They told me I could take the ram
out
of my 7600 and put it into the clone since I wasn't going to be using it
anymore and it would be silly to buy the same thing for the other machine
that I was taking out. Well long story short, the ram was different
voltages and it toasted the clone. They refused to ship me a replacement
board and or credit me the difference of what a new board would cost
against the total of my purchase. Btw, if I remember right I bought 4
128meg dimms that were like $200 each so spending the extra $50 for ram
for the clone wasnt a concern. But downtime would have been if it wasn't
for smalldog overnighting me a umax for $125.

While I'm on a rant, don't buy from macsolutions. I bought a laptop this
summer to give demos of a website I was developing(musicnn.com) and needed
ram QUICK for a machine that didn't even arive yet. I had macsolutions
overnight me ram for my 2400. When I put the ram in it didn't work. I
thought I had done something to the machine. They told me I must have
done something to the machine. I called mce up, luckily macworld NY was
the next week. Kevin said he'd check out my machine and install the ram
on the showfloor at macworld. He did, it works. And macsolutions
wouldn't take the ram back. They said they would send me a replacement
dimm but at this point I already had one that worked. since I'm a
reasonable guy and always hungry for ram, I suggested that I would by
pc100 and they could use the 2400 ram as a partial refund against that.
They said no and now we dont do business with mac solutions either. I
should have sent them a bill for the amount of time I spent on my 2400
because they assured me their ram was good.

I may have a rant against trans intl soon also. I bought 256meg pc100
dimms for a g4 and I just put one in and it's being recongnized as 128.
UGh. I'll be calling them monday.

In my experience, MCE and crucialtechnologies are the best.
