Tom, Funny, after replying to your post, tonight I partitioned the HD & prepped the 2400 for my wife. Perusing all the software I was getting ready to deal, (OS 8 cd's, 8.6 update file, and all other updates), I saw the 9.0.4 System Folder. It was SO the path o' least resistance that I dragged it on over. And you know, that 2400 performance is back! Before with 9.04, the 2400 really suffered from terminal constipation. Opening pictures took like forever. I've removed a lot of files, and mebbe the partitioning helped some, I dunno. I do know it's fast again.
