There are RAM upgrades for up to 112M. I didn't believe they existed but 
then someone on this list sent this screeen shot:

These ram modules are pricy. I believe it was around $350.


As for using laptops as desktops, I rather hate the idea. For example, 
the disk drives on laptops trail their desktop bretheren in a big way. 
Laptop drives top out at 5,400 RPM. The $200 disk drive in my desktop 
goes 10,000 RPM. That means half the latency!

Plus then there's the screens. The Titanium has a screen that is 
something like 1150 x 768. My desktop uses TWO 1280 x 1024 monitors. Can 
you cay cowabunga? And this is on a 5 year old Mac 8500.

So that's why I have a 2400. Before a trip, I download all my working 
data to it and walk off with only 4.4 lbs in hand. And I leave the 120 lb 
computer at home.
