Okay, here's an update on PRAM batteries. I ordered one from MacResQ about a week before I heard about the ones being sold for $35 on e-bay. Oh, well. My loss. That's not the part I found interesting, though. The battery, instead of shipping from MacResQ in Overland Park, Kansas, apparently shipped from Apple in Lenexa, Kansas. Is there an Apple facility there, or is MacResQ branding its packages as if they came directly from Apple? Does Apple truly have 2400 PRAM batteries left? What is the meaning of life? Okay, don't answer that last one. In any event, I will be delving into the painful work of pulling my 2400 apart tonight to replace the PRAM battery. I feel encouraged, though, about extending the life of my 2400, since last night I ran TattleTech, and it says my 2400 is already Cardbus enabled. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones? Has anyone had any luck with the Newer Firewire Cardbus card? I was hoping to start doing some digital video editing on my Comet. Thanks!
