Try a shareware utility called Battery Amnesia (you can get it from
Http://www.macintoshos.com/shareware.library/powerbook/powerbook.shtml
)
It will discharge your battery more completely than the powerbook
usually allows, if you repeat this several times (FULLY charging after
every time) it might restore your battery to a usable state. if not
then you will have to fork out for a new battery,
The cheapest I can see after a quick trawl of the web is $80 from
http://www.laptopmania.com
other sites are around $85-100. they do turn up regularly on ebay
though, but ensure that you are not being sold one that has been in
storage for the last 5 years as it will probably refuse to charge!
good luck,

+ +what's the best place to get a new one for a decent price?
+ + Who makes a good
