Damn me, I'm so spoiled by the ease of Remote Access on my iBook that I can't find my way through the tcp/ip/ppp jungle in sys 7.5.5 on the little duo230 I'm trying to get up to scratch. What's the easiest way for a protocol ignoramus to get set up for an internet connection (I want to use my existing ISP account - clubnet in Italy) and for e-mail? I presume Remote Access doesn't exist for sys 7.5.5... So: I've got: - MacTCP 2.0.6 - FreePPP 2.6.2 (which I installed, got nowhere with, and then uninstalled piece by piece) - Open Tpt ATalk 68K Library, Inet 68K Library and Guide Additions (though I can't find an Open Transport application which I presume must exist) - no TCP/IP control panel (that I'm convinced was there before) ever since the FreePPP install/uninstall; - eudora light 1.5.3 - explorer 3.01 (plus a whole gaggle of other little browser to try out) - a 14.4K Apple Express internal modem inside (which I haven't got instructions for...). What pieces am I missing (if any), where could I get them, and what do I need to do with them to get the little beast online? I'd be most appreciative of a piece of your collective wisdom. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
