Ok, I received the adaptor today, and it works. Kind of .. there are some hoops I had to jump through to get both my ix3D Road rocket and Megahertz 336 Ethernet modem card combo. So here are the steps to getting it working: 1. Stick the Ethernet cart in the upper slot and setup you network (Location Manager, etc...) and test it. 2. To 'kickstart' CardBus in the lower card slot I put in a Adaptec powerDomain 1480 Slim SCSI CardBus card, and then eject it. For some reason this has to be done with the ix3D Road Rocket on the 2400. 3. Shove the ix3D Road Rocket in the the adaptor. It's a very tight fit into the adaptor, and requiered some force to get it in there. After the first time, it was easier to put in and take out. 4. Cross your fingers and insert the PCMCIA adaptor with the ix3D Road Rocket conected and a monitor attached to the Road Rocket. If all has gone well, the monitors should flicker as the desktop is rearanged and redrawn, and bingo, you're ready to rock! What I've learned: The RockRocket + Adaptor dosn't work in the upper slot. It didn't properly detect the monitor that was attached, and when I moved the pointer to where the second monitor should be, it was gone and woudn't come back. It may work with other monitors, just not my Apple 16" Color monitor. When I put in mt Megahertz Ethernet/Modem combo card after the Road Rocket, my 2400 tried to format it as a 6mg memory card, and then promptly crashed and or reboot fell into a GLOD, that was easy to recover from. The dongle hanging off my Megahertz that is needed for ethernet is has some stress put on it because of how large the Road Rocket is. If anyone wants picutes of the setup, give me an e-mail. >Hoohaa! > Now that I have my ix3D Road Rocket, I hate not having Ethernet.
