I would say that the PRAM battery is definitely Kaput. However, you ought
to be able to start the machine with the power button on the back of the
machine. If that doesn't work on the first shot, my 230 would sometimes
refuse to start, and playing around with the power button on the back and
the one on the keyboard would invariably get it to power on.
