Dave,

I haven't followed the threads concerning ethernet too closely so please
forgive if I repeat or omit important stuff.....

I run the Global Village (as opposed to GV - yes, there is a modem maker
called "GV") combo card on a Vimage 320 2400. I use it to connect to the
hardwired side of an Airport Base Station LAN. This LAN has a G3 upgraded
8500, a Rev B iMac, a cable modem and a Laserwriter 630.

The 2400 (pre and post Cardbus enabled - Kevin at MCE is superb) had no
problems connecting to internet/printing to 630/file sharing with other
computers on LAN (including a wireless laptop) - I have yet to fully test it
with 9.1. I even disconnected an ethernet laser printer at work (windoze
network) and after a few minutes of putzing around, got the 2400 to print to
that.

This laptop with original battery (life 1 hr +)travels extensively with me
CONUS and Caribbean. The fax and connect capabilities of Global Village
seem far superior to other programs.

I'm not a developer or programmer, I just like things that simply work.

Ed
