Hi all, Just like share my favorite PB: the 2400/180. I got this recently and it is a great little machine. I love my Wallstreet 300 but it's basically my desktop computer so my PB 2400 gets the nod for the most versatle. It's running 8.6/9.0, is plenty quick enough, and I can use my Farallon Skyline modem with an Airport Base Station. The Farallon also allows me to hook up wirelessly with the Wallstreet (via another Skyline card) to transfer info back and forth. I also use a Ricochet wireless PC card for on the road internet access and so far it is doing well with the 2400. At home the reception is iffy. The 2400 also hooks up well with my HP 5MP laser printer. About the only thing I really miss is the ablity to use a scrolling USB mouse, but I may cardbus this little guy later. I'm also going to use the 2400 to run a Filemaker database for a large local music competition in Los Angeles. It will take over the duties of my Wallstreet which has been doing the job for the past three years. Maybe I'll wirelessly update their website with the competition results right from the competition site! Great size and weight! I travel to Hawaii and Northern Cal a few times a year so this will be a great relief to my shoulder! I have gotten a Kensington Wetsuit 3.0 for it but the Tom Bihn Cafe Computer case is really great. I place the stock power adapter/cord (which is also nice and small!) on the bottom of the case, cover that with a piece of 2" foam and then place my PB over that. Keeps things tidy and I get a bit more bump protection. BTW I have over the years use (collected) a 540c and a 1400/117. Both nice machines, esp. the 1400 when (if) I upgrade it to a G3. But right out of the box (well, with 80M ram) the 2400 is quite useful to this day. Good power and you can't beat the weight and size! -- Way Wirelessly via PB 2400 Farallon Skyline & Aiport ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
