I may be mistaken, but I believe that all of the 2300c computers have an 
IDE drive, and therefore an IDE cable. The motherboard has a connector for 
SCSI, and machines that started their lives as a 230 would have an SCSI 
drive.

So, you might want to check if your drive is SCSI or IDE.

On the other hand, now that I think of it, the original 2300c had a 750MB 
drive if memory serves. Which would mean that yours with a 320 MB drive 
must have been upgraded, from a 280 perhaps? Then you would be right, and 
would need the cable.
