Ohhhh hummm I have a G3 Bronze that did that, ended up having to get a new processor
for it! Sure hope you don't!

I hear a brief clicking like noise when I depress the power key on either the main
keyboard or an external keyboard. Also, the LEDs will briefly illuminate on the
external keyboard, but the hard drive does not spin up, nor does the LCD light up - at
all.
I have to hit the reset button at the back for the above behavior to be repeated. The
above behavior is also exhibited if I depress the reset button twice in a row. I
tried resetting the power manager by disconnecting the battery & ac adapter and
holding the reset button for 10 seconds to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas?
