Cyberdog was Apple's answer to Netscape 1.12, at least the browser part was. It was first introduced with System 8 along with OpenDoc which was a system of software "parts" that were designed to work with in Opendoc documents. Third parties could write various parts that did various functions that hooked into the OpenDoc suprastructure. So that in one Opendoc doc I could imbed a web page, spreadsheet and text. It was kind of a neat idea at the time, but didn't survive the Amilio (? Apple's short term CEO prior to Jobs) regieme.
Works great on 8.6 and 9.1. The browser still handles the majority of pages it encounters, but falters when it gets to javascript. It's best feature is the notebook concept where your bookmarks are displayed in a window that you can drag click on and open umpteen browser windows at a time. That feature is one of the reasons I like Opera a lot. . .
