I know people are probably sick of hearing of the new ibook on the list. But I'm considering purchasing it to replace my 2400. I hear that the new ibook cannot use pc cards. Does this limit the ability for it to use a cellphone as a way of connecting to the internet? Could the new ibook connect with a cellphone another way? This would be important for me to know. Although I have yet to set up my 2400 with such capability, I'm in the process of doing so. I have free long distance on my cellphone plan, so it just makes sense to use my cellphone to connect to the internet when on the road. But I've never done it before, however. I would like to get 56K connection if possible. I have a 2400/180 80MB RAM 1.3 GB HD, and a Nokia 5190 cellphone. Does anyone use this phone to connect to the internet with their laptop? What type of set up do you have in regards to PC cards, software, cabling, or even cellphone type. What would you recommend in brand or set up. Also, I just would like to know how others are using this ability. What is the experience like? Is it unstable? Do cellphone providers charge extra? Does the function drain the battery quicker? ANY input would be very much appreciated. Mike ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
