Virtual PC shares your mac printer, modem, CD-Rom etc.. when you set up Virtual PC
be sure to make the PC hard-drive large enough so that you have room install what ever
PC programs that will be required to open the documents. (ie. Office 98 or Office
2000) Also make sure that everything such as printer, CD-ROM etc are connected (setup
and operational on your Mac when you do the install). If your going to be using a USB
printer always use the same USB port when you connect the printer or your gonna have
problems printing.
If the boss is willing to buy the lates and greates book get a G3 or G4 power book
333 Mhz or higher with 128 meg of ram or more, (the more RAM the better). Give
Virtual PC 1 to 1.5 gig of hard drive space and do a minium install of what ever
office programs you need.
It's very easy to set-up and use.
It runs better on my G3 bronze and TI than the 2400! I also have it on 28 of the
office Mac's (Imac's, G3 and G4 towers) all on a network sharing the Mac DSL and Epson
USB printers.

I need to use some Windoz programs at work and can run the software on my PB 2400
using Virtual PC. However, I do not know how to set up the software to print out
documents created in Windoz using the VPC emulation. My company has provided me with a
Toshiba laptop and I can do the documents using real Windoz, but the cursing
associated with using the "Dark Side" is formidable.
My boss has offered to buy me the latest and greatest Mac Laptop, but I am afraid that
I will not be able to print out the necessary documents using VPC.
