hi, folks, and hi, corina--been following this thread (as the proud owner of
the new ibook, plus 2 2400c�s and all the duos), and i can tell you that
while the 2400c�s and the duos remain the more charming machines for me, the
new ibook is a screamer in terms of performance, and its screen is superb. i
have no doubt you�ll love it. i�m from the philippines and have been in the
US these past three weeks, trying to get a hold of the new ibook (well,
among other less urgent tasks) wherever i�ve gone--from san diego to
minneapolis to milwaukee to chicago to new york. they were all out of stock
about ten days ago, and then i finally found one at tekserve in new york
city, 155 e. 23rd st. (they had and still have quite a number of the CD-ROM
models in stock, whereas CompUSA on fifth ave. didn�t even have a demo
model). the final price including new york taxes and a 128 mb memory add-on
was 1,492.77--you can get it for a bit cheaper elsewhere, if you can get it
at all, that is.
as for your ethernet question, yes, you can have ethernet on your 2400c on a
PC card, no need for cardbus; i use a farallon card and it works flawlessly,
and will use that to transfer files between my 2400c and the new ibook.
