Hmmmm ... I'm not sure I see the correlation ... this rumored PowerBook would
definitely be bigger and heavier than the new iBook, probably closer to the current
Pismo with slight shaving of the case to remove the curves. The only advantage you
would gain over the iBook vis-a-vis the 2400 is a card slot. Now, the card slot is
indispensable on the 2400 due to its older technological restrictions, but will you
REALLY need it on a modern machine? The only PC card I have for my Pismo is a SCSI
card. However, I wish I had waited and bought the Firewire/SCSI adapter instead. The
new wireless internet stuff can be accessed through an external USB modem as well and
I suspect down the line as it takes off, it will be able to use built-in AirPort
technology. The bottom line is ... WHY do you have a 2400? Is it the size? If so,
run, don't walk, to the nearest Apple retailer and buy yourself an iBook. Otherwise,
there have always been better "vintage" PowerBooks than the 2400 that do more.
