most any modern  3.5" 1/3 height scsi drive can be mounted.  You also need
the metal mounting bracket which "snaps" it in place in the dock and the
power cable which comes from topside.  I do believe the bracket is also the
same one which fit in the LC II's.  The power cable was used on a number of
mac models.  Max capacity is dependent on which OS you're running.  (i.e.
partition sizes are maxed out at about 2GB for earlier OS 7 and by OS 8 you
could go larger than that.  I know there were some problems in the past with
certain manufactured drives which I can't recall off hand however, third
party disk drivers like silver lining, etc. helped make the drives run.

50 pin scsi only cabled with 50 pin ribbon cable.  Hope that helps.
