You can also find the appropriate power connector in older Macs -- I know that
the LC series, along with the IIcx and IIci have them. I've been told that
the
Classic uses the same connector, and it is actually long enough that you don't
need to do any splicing -- in a standard HD install at least...
(As an aside, the HD trays in the LC series machines are the same ones that the
Dock needs. If you can find any LC headed for the scrap yard, the power
cable,
the HD tray and the floppy drive can all be used in a Dock...)
If you get really stuck with the pin outs, I can send them to you, but
there are a
lot of places where you can get those funky power cables. (And of course,
knowing
the pin outs doesn't help if you don't have the cable).
