You might try disconnecting the trackpad cable and then inserting it into
the Dock just to see if the damaged cable is interferes with using the
keyboard connected to the dock.
One note, if you push the eject button on the dock, it will automatically
shut down the Duo and then eject it. Saves going through the Special menu to
shut down especially if you can't control the cursor.
