When I added a hard drive to my Duo Dock I didn't have a kit so I had to
scrounge for components. I found that the power supply cable for a Classic
was the perfect length and had the correct connectors.

In a pinch, you can also use a power supply cable from an LC. While it's too
short it has the right connectors. You can always splice in the extra length
of wire to make up the difference.

BTW, I also recall using the hard drive carrier (kind or a "U" shape metal
caddy) from the LC which snapped right into the Dock. I then purchased a
long SCSI cable from a local PC store that reached from the motherboard and
snaked it's way through to the hard drive. I say snaked because it took me a
while to determine the right path to take through the Dock while making the
correct folds in the ribbon cable. I also recall having to remove the floppy
drive because it passed under the floppy along it route to the drive.

This one had three, 50 pin connectors on it. One for the motherboard, one I
left empty and the one on the other end to connect to the drive. I bought
this particular one (with 3 connectors) because it was the only one long
enough to reach. I would bet that something like that would be great for
someone adding a second drive...or CD-ROM in this case.
