This is way off-topic, but the PB list is apparently defunct. I'm at my wit's end on this one. I bought a PB 3400/200 (48 mb RAM) on E-bay about a month ago. The machine came with 8.6 installed and has had intermittent problems freezing ever since I got it. At first I thought it might be a Power Manager issue, but that's not it. I've reseated the RAM card, wiped the disk and resinstalled form 8.1 through 8.6 to 9.1 right now (I know, it's a RAM hog, and the machine has minimal RAM). I ran Guage Pro RAM tests for over 1000 iterations on the RAM and it passed. Still, the machine has intermittent, unpredictable freezes. I've zapped the PRAM numerous times and reinstalled (clean install) of the OS several times. The seller thinks it's the 32 mb RAM chip. I think it's the logic board. The machine will freeze on startup from CDs and from the Hard Disk--and there's no telling when it will freeze. Right now I'm running TechTool Pro 2.5.3 RAM test on it. So far, no errors. (Oops! Got a freeze. "Leap" is checked. "Minor March" in progress? The machine is guaranteed, but I've got to decide pretty quick whether to send it back or keep this frustrating troubleshoot going.
