Yep, it sounds like a dead Hard Drive to me. Considering that everything 
else works fine, finding a used drive on eBay would seem like the best way
to go (you can get those cheap). Considering that you got a mini dock and
two external floppies, it was quite a bargain... plus the challenge of
getting it working properly!

Off course, getting all the gear that John is selling, would not hurt at
all... sheesh, I wish I Had US$ 300.

By the way, John, any chance of selling that "big box of assorted adapters,
cables, etc." separately? Just asking :')
