I'll say it again just in case I didn't make myself clear:

You cannot use SCSI disk mode on any Duo or 2400c if your internal 
hard drive is 4GB or more in size, even if you try to fool the 
computer by partitioning your hard drive into partitions less than 
4GB in size. I tried several times only to end up with a corrupted 
hard drive, a non-starting mac, a sad mac (one of the few times I 
have seen one), or some similar situation.

You can use SCSI disk mode on any Duo or 2400c if your internal hard 
drive is less than 4GB in size, assuming the hd is advertised as 
macos compatible.

If my memory is correct, the only powerbooks capable of supporting 
any size when in SCSI disk mode are the 3500 and Wallstreet due to an 
Apple ROM bug in previous models. A search in the Apple TILs may give 
you more precise information.
