Actually it will run less hot with a copper g3 upgrade. The Interware
g3@320Mz with 1MB of cache is particularly nice in that respect. My
upgraded 2400c runs very cool even this hot summer.

The easiest thing is upgrade the hard drive if it is still the stock
1GB one. I am using a 2400c with a IBM 20GB HD with the original
processor this week and it gets hotter than my 2400c but never to the
point to be unbearable. I've heard tell of thermal grease hacks but I
don't know how well they work or how easy they are to implement.
As an aside, there seems to be such a pentup demand for 2400c
processor upgrades that we should ask Sonnet to make a g3 (or better
when g4 lower power processors with higher clock multipliers are
available) upgrade for the 2400c for $400-$500 at most. I seem to
recall there was someone at upgradestuff.com that contacted Sonnet to
make a g3 upgrade for the 1400c that Sonnet is still selling like hot
cakes. I can testify their g3 1400c upgrade cards run fine, and as
they bought newertech's assets they have the technology to get it
done. What do you guys think?
