Hi all - I'm trying to change the OS on my 2300 and running into quite a few problems that I was hoping someone could solve (a list member was trying to help me offlist). I have a 2300 with OS 9.04 installed and it is painfully slow. I also have Duo Dock and various MicroDocks (no Mini Dock) with a SONY CD ROM Discman. At first I wanted to install OS 8 from the CD I had but I couldn't get the Duo to boot from the CD (connect through a SCSI Microdock). Tried both 'C' key and Opt-Shft-Cmd-Del - 'C' does nothing, the latter gave me a flashing ? disk. I suspect that the drivers for both the Microdock and CD Rom need to be loaded for it to do anything. Then I realized that there was a Previous System Folder on the Duo HD... looks like it is OS 8.6 - even better I thought! Now with many, many reboots (remember each reboot is a loooong time), I can't bless the old System Folder. I've opened the System Suitcase, Moved the Finder to the desktop, but still no luck. Tried booting from a floppy which wouldn't allow me to move the finder to the desktop, so I just moved it around on the HD. Nothing... Any ideas?
