I did this when I upgraded my 2300c from a 750 meg SCSI to a 1 gig IDE. They
both worked just fine while connected, and I was able to transfer stuff from
the old to the new. I've even considered making an external port out of the
SCSI connection so I can hook up the HDs from my other duo plus a spare I
have.
