any other
PowerBook's RAM compatible with the Duo so I can actually get a larger RAM
module
than the max 48MB available for the 2300? I would think any PPC PowerBook's
RAM prior to the G3 (and possibly including WallStreet) would work. Anybody
else tried this? >>
FrankenMac is back! Break out the soldering irons!! The RAM for the 2300
uses a unique physical interface as well as a different voltage for the
access of the data (5V is what I remember...Sydney??), as well as having just
one RAM socket. Hadn't thought of doing it, but you may be able to pull a
"Palm" and piggyback RAM chips on top of the existing chips, and then run the
clock & data lines to the controller (this is a trick that you can do on certa
in Palm PDAs). Wouldn't be easy, and you'd probably have to start with one
of the 48 meg ram cards. Also did that on the 128 Macs to get 256K (ok, I'm
geezing). Anyone with a reverse-engineered diagram for the card wish to
share it? Wouldn't mind 128 megs in my 2300!
