Hi fellow list readers,
Great work with the discussion(s) this year!
I'm tempted to buy a Duo 2300c 20Mb/1G (available at a seemingly
good price) but have doubts about if I'd find it useful, due to
today's practical hardware requirements.

I need some feedback on:
1. What do you STILL use your Duo for, given its
speed/RAM/storage/screen restrictions?
2. Would the 2300 be capable of *playing* MP3s?
CPU speed, storage capacity, lack of socket for h/phones - do you
try anyway?
3. Internet connection?
What modem practically is useful (intl & extl, and/or via docks)?
Will intl Apple modem from other models work in the Duo? Which
ones? Anyone from Australia have Aus-specific info re modems?
Do you use your Duo just for email, or browse (with iCab) too?
4. What apps do you use regularly?
5. Does someone have the specs of the 2300 at hand, which you could
email to me outside this list? Is there a PDF with colour photos? I
don't have full web access, so email is better than just a weblink.
Send the links anyway!

Which upgrading/fiddling jobs here are worth doing, timewise and
costwise, in return for the extra utility :
- more/better battery power (are all the batteries dead on the old
2300s?)
- to play MP3s
- possibly for on the road email POP access
- for everyday 'on the road' use

Thank you!

I know that I should save up to buy a new iBook. I the meantime -
maybe this 2300 could be just powerful enough to run basic, native
s/ware until next January..

All comments to this group, and emails of tech specs/PDFs on the
Duo 2300 appreciated!
PS. If it is relevant, I'm in Sydney - so take that into account
re. distance/shipping, $, or local readers who want to say g'day.
