It is too bad there is a language barrier between you and the kids because
there are some great edutainment titles available (Reader and Math Rabbit,
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, Oregon Trail, etc....)
My suggestion would be a Kid's oriented paint program like Kid Pix (of
course you would need to locate an older version since the latest version
requires a PowerPC) and a puzzle game like Tetris.
