I have a complicated drive situation that if I can pull off, will really impress my partner. He's a pc guy and has a Fujitsu Lifebook laptop. It has a 5 GB fujitsu drive, part number FPCHDD15. He had lightening come in on it and completely fried the motherboard. With his insurance check he bought a new desktop PC that has USB and Firewire ports. The repair shop thinks that the hard drive is ok. He has a bunch of files he'd like to save. I just bought on ebay a 2300c with a duo dock II (with a 500mb internal drive) which I intend to hook to our office network. I have an iMac on the network which has an external VST firewire drive, which we use only for backup. If I can salvage his files, he indicated he would give me the drive. So here's my questions. 1. Is this drive compatible with a 2300c? 2. Can I transfer the startup system files to the the internal dock drive and boot of the dock drive. 3. Can I then hook up the ide drive internal to the 2300 in the pc format 4. If I can, I assume I can transfer the files to the iMac via file sharing. 5. Can I reformat the VST drive in PC format and save the files on to this drive. 6. Are the drivers for the VST drive in Windows 98, or can they be downloaded?
