Hi,

I can connect my Powerbook 2400 to an external 20-inch monitor and it works
fine. However, I now need to do some presentations. So I tried the same
thing with one of those fancy projectors that hooks up to the VGA connector
and it does not work, regardless if I wake from sleep or even restart.

Firs of all, does anyone use their 2400 with a projector, and does it work,
and are there any requirements or tricks?

Second of all, I confess my OS may have problems. I didn't get around to
buying OS 8.6 when it was available, so when I needed to upgrade about 6
months ago I pirated it from my son's iMac. It seems to work OK except the
Monitors control panel does not work. Maybe there are some settings in
there which would help the projector. But when I launch the Monitors
control panel, I get an alert which says:

"Monitors cannot be used because a required extension, Display Enabler, is
disabled or not installed. Use Extensions Manger to enable Display
Enabler, then restart your computer."

Sounds simple enough, so I went to the Apple web site and, downloaded
Display Enabler 2.4.1, placed it in my Extensions Folder and restarted my
powerbook. Same problem. I tried putting a space ahead of the name to make
it load earlier but that did not help either.

P.S. I know should go out and buy one of the new powerbooks, but I am so
busy using this old 2400 with Interware G3 that I just have not been able to
commit the time to do such a lifestyle change...sorry.
