Finally managed to get the new cells wired up last night, and right now my Duo2300c is sitting next to me, running entirely on battery! It's the first time it's run on a battery since I've owned it (about two or three years now). So far I'm getting about 1.5-2 hours just letting it sit with all the power saving options off, which is probably going to save me buying a new laptop. It's gotten increasingly difficult to make it useful for school being tied to an outlet, so this will help a lot ;) Now for a question, and the cause of the "mostly" bit. What's the best way of getting the battery case closed again? Since my soldering skills are pretty good but far from great, the cells don't quite fit the same way the original ones did, so it's a bit tight. Would it work to clamp it shut with a few C clamps and use some kind of epoxy on it? I've just got the thing stuck in there and it's working well enough that I might just leave well enough alone. The only reason I might ever take it out is to put it in my other Duo (a 230), though I don't know that I would make enough use out of it. Ah well. Just being a very happy Duo owner :) Go Apple!
