I have had this happen three time with my 2400. Twice it turned out to be
the motherboard, and the last time it was the processor. I don't know where
you could find a spare motherboard or processor (and you could have a
different problem), but DT&T Services will fix it if you mail it to them.
They are one of the few repair companies really trusted by the members of
this list.

It sounds like you have tried pretty much everything Sydney Ho suggests on
his page for revitalizing a dead 2400, except that you didn't mention
unplugging the power adapter when resetting. For complete instructions, his
web site is here:

http://webobjects.uwaterloo.ca/mac2400/power_reset_by_sydney_ho.htm

Also, have you already checked out the 2400 web site? It lists some other
places besides DT&T to get your powerbook fixed.

http://webobjects.uwaterloo.ca/mac2400/

(The old URL is also at the bottom of all of our messages, and that page
will forward you)

You can call DT&T at 1-800-622-7977 and discuss the problem with them. They
are in California. Theire website is www.dttservice.com.

Good luck!
Corina
