Well, after playing with my niece's new iBook and wondering whether she can run Quicken 2000 under OS 9.2($5 at Small Dog), and then working to bring my 2400 up under OS 9.x and having problems...I realized it might be usefully for some Lessons Learned pages on mac2400 dealing with the various OS versions.
If anyone has a summary or comments of what runs or doesn't run, etc. for the following OSs on a 2400 I'll try and pull something together. I'm thinking along these lines: Dos and Don'ts, Lessons Learned, etc. Memory requirements Minimum software versions required for mainstream utilities and apps, e.g., Conflict Catcher, Quicken, etc. Other stuff you've run across. Useful Links OS 8.0 .... Original and minimum version required. Gee, four years goes by fast. ;-) OS 8.6 .... Probably the best OS for the 2400 in terms of memory and stability OS 9.0 .... Let's you get on mac.com, etc., but requires...? OS 9.1 .... Additional limitations?
