Yep, my duo 2300 appears to be cured -- haven't had any crashes or waking-up problems all today or yesterday.
All I did was: I removed the screws on the bottom and lifted the keyboard out. I disconnected the ram card, and immediately reconnected it. I poked around a bit, wondering what other things I might try to disconnect and reconnect (but I didn't actually do anything) I put the keyboard back, and put the screws back in. I had the correct kind of screwdriver, and I tightened the screws securely . . . . . . and I was thinking: the _previous_ time I took out and put back these screws (when I originally installed the ram card), I was using an improper screwdriver -- actually, an allen wrench that I'd filed to fit. It worked for removing and putting back the screws, but when I tried to tighten them down snugly the allen wrench would start to slip -- and so, not wanting to strip the screws, I let them be, just barely tight. So . . . perhaps the original problem was the keyboard not being screwed in securely enough. (I know that there are always warnings not to tighten them too much or the keyboard may not work, but still, maybe theres such a thing as too loose.) Or maybe the problem was the ram card connection. Or maybe it was something else amiss that got knocked back into place when I was poking around inside. It was a far quicker and easier fix I ever imagined! Anyway, I'm very happy-- and grateful for the advice I got (also the recent explanations about grounding).
