Dan, thanks for the comments. I'll stick with 8.6.

As far as your IIsi as a router, that machine as a PDS slot and a Nubus
slot. You can put an ethernet card in the Nubus slot, then grab yourself
the software IPNetRouter <www.sustworks.com> and it'll do everthing you
need. Prior to going with a Linksys router, I used IPNetRouter for quite
a long time.  Works great.
