I have become an increasingly good customer of DT&T. They do fine work
and stand behind their warranties. But it's a mathematical inevitability
that if any component CAN fail over time, the more time, the more
likelihood of failure. For a laptop (mine gets tossed around a couple of
times daily), you can expect the same forces that caused a hairline
fracture in a trace, or the on/off cycling that opened up a flaw in your
CPU, will eventually hit other components. The fact that you had one
failure tells you that others are more likely than a random sample would
suggest.

Just because there's no sign of CPU cancer anymore doesn't mean that
powersupply failure, or HD arthritis, won't come visiting soon. Keep
your backups and options up-to-date.
