Okay, so I've gotta have the most problematic 2400 out there.
Actually, I think its because I just got it and the first thing I did
was a clean install of 9.1 so I had all the cool parts and no
drivers. Anyway

So I have this Macally USB card. I put it in, it comes up blank etc.
I download Apple's USB card stuff that I used to install a USB card
in an 8500 and a beige G3. It won't install on this computer
(apparently). Not daunted, I pull out my trusty friend TomeViewer.
I put all but two of the extensions straight into my extensions
folder. One of them (SerialShimLib) I had a newer version installed.
The other one I had an older version installed (HID Library). I
installed the new HID Library, and voila, on reboot my 2400 wouldn't.
With extensions off, I rebooted and switched to the old version.
Yay, its boots.
Now I insert the card and it is no longer blank, it says "USB" and
has the icon. How pretty it is. However, on boot it came up with a
message saying that the USB Extension had not been enabled (and to
read the DDK, whatever that is). I figure perhaps I have to have the
card installed. So I reboot with the card in, and it won't go past
the "Welcome to MacOS" screen. It doesn't get to the marching INITs
or the progress bar.
Apple System Profiler doesn't see the USB card, but I'm not sure if it should

Thanks
Aqua
