Ooooooohyaaaaaaa
I agree with you Andrew . I was using an SE30/OS7.1 at home .When
everyone was adapting to 7.6 it was only when 8.0 arrived that I finally
upgraded to a new OS. There will always be "low end" users . As was said
before , upgrading is always a combination of want need and expendable cash
or debt in my case. If this wasn't the case then people would not be buying
the powerbook 180 line, on ebay. There can't be that many collectors around.
Besides, it is always a good idea to adopt about a year behind sometimes two.
This way someone else can deal with all the crashes and work out the bugs
for me , while I chug along and pump out work fast enough to spend time on
this list contemplating future upgrade scenarios. Hmmmm ??? I guess it all
works out to the same destination just different times of arrival.
On a side note, when the first PPC arrived , I was using a quadra 840av.
My buddy next to me received a brand new PPC 8100/110 mhz . He was
the envy of the office . For the next six months he changed as a person.
All of a sudden his dialog was " F---'- P---- S--- !!! ", usually followed by
" G-- D-- F---'- Apple !!! " and then true insanity would come out of his mouth,
"I wish I had an Avid !!!! " anyway , you get the point.
As long as they are working, the 2400 will be in use . In case no one has
noticed , I think apple( and even IBM) has canceled any further development
of the 2400. Just kidding guys and gals., this kind of discussion feeds the brain.
And I would still consider an upgrade!!!
Cheers
Fly in the ointment.
